Adding Task Markers on Conditional UI Elements
How to Create Tasks on These Elements:
- Switch to Browse Mode: Use this if the element needs to be revealed through specific actions (e.g., clicking a menu or dragging a slider).
- Locate the Element: Alternatively, if the element appears via hover without additional clicks, you can simply hover over it while in Task Mode.
- Switch to Task Mode: Once the element is visible, click on it to add a new task.
- Submit: Click Create to save your task.
How to Preview Conditional UI Using “Show Marker”
You can access this view in two ways:
- From the Task List: Click the Show Marker icon directly on the task card in the side panel.
- From an Open Task: If you already have a task open, click the Live Snapshot icon (the same visual symbol) within the task details.
Once activated, the page canvas will update to show the site at the exact moment the task was created.
This includes:
- Active States: Automatically reopening the specific menus, tabs, or sliders that were active during creation.
- Precise Placement: The task marker will appear exactly where it was placed on the element, regardless of its current visibility.
👉Note: Live Snapshot/Show marker mode is a preview-only mode. While it allows you to navigate and inspect the state of the page at that specific moment, you cannot add new tasks while this mode is active.
Markers for Changed/Missing Elements (Gray Markers)
Webvizio is designed to track elements even as your site changes. However, if an element is hidden, removed, or its structure is significantly altered, you may see a gray task marker instead of the standard colored pin.
If you encounter a gray marker or a pin that doesn’t seem to appear, you can use these two ways to see exactly what the reporter saw:
1. Task Screenshots
Every time a task is created, Webvizio automatically captures a high-resolution screenshot of the specific area, showing the exact position of the task marker relative to the surrounding site elements.
- How to preview: Click the Task screenshot icon directly on the task card in the side panel.
2. Live Snapshot (“Show Marker”)
For a fully interactive view, use the Show Marker functionality. This feature restores the page to the exact state it was in when the task was created (including open menus, hovers, or active tabs).
