The WordPress plugin for Webvizio is designed to streamline website development and improve your Webvizio experience while working on WordPress-based websites. This plugin brings significant enhancements to content accuracy and loading speeds. It also secures access to password-protected pages.
The WordPress plugin offers several key benefits that significantly enhance your experience collaborating on Webvizio:
- Accurate Content Display: The plugin ensures that your site content is displayed correctly within Webvizio, addressing common issues such as incorrect display or missing page elements in the regular dashboard. This guarantees that all content is rendered accurately, maintaining a seamless and professional viewing experience.
- Access to Password-Protected Pages: The plugin enables efficient and seamless interaction with hidden or password-protected pages on your website. This way, you can conveniently annotate and collaborate on any web page efficiently, including password-protected ones.
- Increased Loading Speed: By directly utilizing your website’s resources, the plugin significantly boosts tab loading speeds. Webvizio no longer creates a copy of your website page for display. Instead, it uses your website directly. Thus, the speed at which tabs load is limited only by the speed of your site’s page loading. This approach ensures that the loading speed is only limited by your site’s inherent performance, providing a faster and more efficient user experience.
Installation
Webvizio WordPress plugin is available in the WordPress plugin directory. To install the plugin go to the plugins tab and click on Add New Plugin button. Select the Webvizio plugin and click the Install Now button.
Step 2: Find Webvizio plugin using search field and click the Install Now button.
Activating the Plugin
To activate the plugin, you need to connect it to your Webvizio account. To do this, go to the plugin settings page and click the ‘Connect Webvizio’ button.
After clicking the ‘Connect’ button, you will be redirected to the Webvizio interface, where you can confirm the connection of your site to Webvizio.
If the connection is successful, you will be redirected back to the plugin settings page and gain access to additional settings. In your Webvizio account, all projects associated with your site will automatically connect to the plugin. Any new projects created with your site’s URL will also automatically connect to the plugin.
Connection Issues
There are two errors, that may occur during the connection process. Both can be easily fixed.
Error: The Website Does Not Support HTTPS
To function properly, your site must support the secure HTTPS protocol. If your site is still in development, you can use a free certificate (for instance, from Let’s Encrypt). It will be sufficient to ensure secure operation with the plugin. After switching your site to the HTTPS protocol, the ‘Connect Webvizio’ button will become available.
Ensure your site supports the HTTPS protocol for security matters.
Error: Unable to Display Website Inside an Iframe
This error occurs when the site blocks its display inside an iframe using the X-Frame-Options header. In principle, it is meant to prevent a site from being displayed discreetly within another site for security reasons. But in this case, the header disrupts your site’s display within the Webvizio interface. You can find a solution to this issue in our dedicated article on X-Frame-Options: Click
Connecting Users to Webvizio
You can select a user within your site to be connected to Webvizio. After this, all Webvizio users who open the project will automatically be logged into the account of the connected user and have access to all the pages available to that WordPress user, except for the admin panel pages.
Note: If you want to work with the WordPress admin panel, you need to use our Google Chrome extension instead of the plugin: https://webvizio.com/help-center/webvizio-chrome-extension/
To link an account, select a specific user you need from the table in the ‘Connect User’ section and click the ‘Connect’ button.
Important: For security reasons, we advise against connecting users with the administrator role to Webvizio. The optimal approach is to create a dedicated user account on your site specifically for Webvizio integration.
Changing Connected Account
A WordPress website can be connected to only one Webvizio account. If you wish to change the connected account, simply click the ‘Change Account’ button. You will then be automatically redirected to the Webvizio interface, where you can confirm the connection to the account you are currently logged into. This allows you to easily switch between accounts as needed, ensuring that your website is always connected to the appropriate Webvizio account.
Disabling Integration
First method: To disable the integration with Webvizio, you can simply click the ‘Disconnect’ button in the plugin settings or deactivate the plugin itself through your WordPress dashboard. This will immediately stop the connection between your site and Webvizio.
Alternative method: Another way to disable the integration is from within the Webvizio application. Navigate to the project settings page and locate the WordPress plugin section. Here, you can click the ‘Disconnect’ button to sever the connection. This method provides a seamless way to manage your integrations directly from the Webvizio interface.
Conclusion
By integrating your WordPress website with the Webvizio plugin, you can significantly enhance content accuracy, boost loading speeds, and obtain access to password-protected pages. This plugin makes collaboration on web development more efficient and effective, improving your overall experience within Webvizio.
