Managing Website Tabs in Projects

In website projects, each page you work on opens in its own tab, just like in a web browser. You can open several pages in one project, switch between them, arrange and rename tabs, and quickly find any page that has ever been opened in the project.

Opening a new tab

There are two ways to open a new tab.

Using the + button

  1. Click the + button to the right of your open tabs.
  2. Enter the page URL and click Add.

You can also upload an image or design file to a new tab. This way you can compare a live page with its design side by side in one project. Learn more in the Create Your First Project article.

  1. Switch to Browse mode at the top of the screen.
  2. Click any link on the page. The linked page opens in a new tab.

🚩

Note: Links don’t work in Task mode, which is turned on by default when you open a project. Learn more about modes in the Create and Manage Tasks article.

Reordering tabs

To change the order of tabs, drag a tab left or right and drop it where you want it.

Renaming tabs

By default, a tab is named after the page title. To give it a clearer name, double-click the tab name, type a new one, and press Enter.

Finding any tab with Manage tabs

Manage tabs lists every page that has ever been opened in the project, including tabs you’ve already closed. This is useful in large projects with many pages.

  1. Click the Manage tabs icon in the toolbar at the top-right of the page.
  2. Find the page you need in the list, or start typing its name in the Search field. [Screenshot: Manage tabs icon and search results]
  3. Click the page to open it in a tab.

To copy a link to a page, click the link icon next to it.

Deleting tabs

To remove a page from the project entirely, open Manage tabs and click the trash icon next to the page. Before the page is deleted, Webvizio asks you to confirm.

🚩

Warning: Please note that all tasks associated with this tab will be permanently deleted for all users. This can’t be undone. If you only want to hide the tab from the tab bar, close it instead.

Closing tabs

To close a tab, click × next to its name. Closing a tab doesn’t delete the page or its tasks. You can reopen it anytime from Manage tabs.
